And Chris and I will be getting married next spring.

Presents for Ellie

(OCC: Set for the week after Ellie's birthday.)

"Just once," Brian tells Aidan as they stand on the steps of the Eames-Dresden household. Aidan of course takes "once" to mean many and rings the doorbell again and again.

Wisconsin wasn't as horrible as I thought it was going to be. Meeting her parents was kinda like going in for a job interview where the person has already decided they want to hire you. I just couldn't believe how dark and quiet it got.

Got back to find that Tess got in an argument with Aidan's day care director and pulled him out. So now I have until Monday to figure out a place for him to go.

And Rossi decided to ignore my instructions to plead out a case and trial started yesterday. I should have known that she would be unwilling to make a deal with a rapist, but it still sucks.

Things seem to be racing ahead way too fast lately. I'm meeting Chris's parents in two weeks (some sort of family reunion that her parents practically demanded I attend). Aidan's staying with his mom and we'll see how that goes. And he's also decided that he wants a little brother.

There's a cat sitting on my lap.

I really don't know why I let him talk me into this. I don't like cats.

He was supposed to pick out a dog, but now there's this big gray thing in my lap.

His name is Bear. I really want to know how my kid became a cat person.

wtf?

Seriously?!

Who tells a three year old that naps are evil?

I just hope he doesn't another meltdown tomorrow. At least I didn't have to go pick him up again.

I'm 33 now, which really isn't that different from being 32. Another year is another year, I guess.

Went out with the old gang from the office which was nice because none of us really work together anymore.

Tess took Aidan for the weekend. That was nice. Really nice.

When did I become Aidan's dad? I know the technical answer to that question, but lately it seems that it's become my actual name. Whenever I pick him up or drop him off at daycare that's all I am. I can understand that to a point it's his place. It's just that today a women approached me at THE OFFICE and said, "Aren't you Aidan's dad?"

Why do two year olds need t have Valentine's Day cards? He can barely hold a pencil let alone write anything legible.

I do have a date tonight. Nothing all that special. Probably won't amount to much.

Today was just strange.

I kept Aidan at home and his mom wasn't very happy about it, but I have custody.

Aidan's bear was my office was in my office because he tried to take it with him to daycare. Last night was rough and every night until I get that bear back probably will be too.

I still don't what to think about what happened yesterday. I guess I should feel lucky, but I just don't know.

This year? Worst than last year.

For the past few weeks Sloopy has been even more tired than usual and yesterday I noticed he wasn't eating and I couldn't get him to go outside either. Took him to the vet and made the decision to let him go. It was time. He was almost fourteen. And I'll miss.

Luckily Aidan is at his mom's until tomorrow. He's young that'll probably just tell that Sloopy isn't coming back. Only thing I can really think of.

This is left in the lab for Isa with a little thanking her for the books.

A gift certificate to a movie is left on Connie's desk with a note of thanks for the DVDs.
